Panoramas before the Storm

Posted by Avital Pinnick on November 16, 2009

It was raining last Friday. I took a couple panorama shots because the clouds were so impressive in the late afternoon.

Approaching Desert Storm

For a few minutes a small rainbow appeared over Nofei Pratt, near Kfar Adumim:

Both sets of photos were taken from my balcony at the bottom of Mitzpeh Nevo, Maale Adumim, facing roughly northward.

Stunning! The sky show reminds me of those in the high desert regions in the Southwestern US. Perfect light when you took these. Photographer’s light!

It was luck! I had put away my camera before Shabbat, saw the clouds and setting sun, grabbed my case and a stool (we have a high railing), and took these shots on the balcony. Most of the year we don’t have interesting clouds in the desert, so the skies are boring.
